AFP
is the largest professional fundraising network in the world! And one
of the greatest benefits of AFP membership is the opportunity to
network -- to exchange information with one's peers, to learn from those
who are more experienced, and to help those who are just getting started
in professional fund raising.
AFP membership means
you are part of a professional community that provides the environment
for contacts with leaders of the profession throughout North America and
the world.

National Philanthropy
Day
November 18, 2009
THANK YOU NEW MEXICO FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF
NATIONAL PHILANTHROPY DAY!
For more than 20 years, the New Mexico Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals has celebrated National Philanthropy Day. We strive to honor and recognize those changing our world for the better. This year was no exception and we were thrilled that over 750 people could attend the event. We are so grateful for the support of Governor Bill Richardson, who proclaimed November 18th as NEW MEXICO PHILANTHROPY DAY!

FREE LISTING IN NM
NONPROFIT DIRECTORY
Dear AFP Colleagues;
The Center for Nonprofit Excellence, a capacity building organization for New
Mexico nonprofits, recently launched an online New Mexico Nonprofit
Directory. The Directory is a free and searchable database of
501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and Tribal programs in the state of New
Mexico.
The Directory will be of use to:
- grantmakers,
- donors,
- volunteers
- nonprofit
organizations looking to partner, collaborate or learn from each other (we
all know how valuable and critical networking is!)
Please make sure that your 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(3) fiscally sponsored
nonprofit or Tribal program is listed in the New Mexico Nonprofit Directory.
There is no cost to having your nonprofit organization listed in this
directory.
Please follow these easy instructions to be listed:
- Choose someone from your nonprofit
organization to fill out the form. Please only one submission per
organization.
- Go to
www.centerfornonprofitexcellence.org
- Go to the Get Involved tab.
- Click on Find a Nonprofit. Check to see
if your organization is already listed; if you aren’t listed follow the
link to fill out the form.
- Take 5-10 minutes to fill out the form as
completely as you can. Click Save.
- Contact Margaret Salamon with any questions:
(505) 247-3671 x714
Be sure and share this resource with your nonprofit peers – encourage
them to get listed. Thank you for participating in this valuable state
resource!
Sincerely,
Celia Merrill
President AFP-NM

WE’RE “FRIENDS OF DIVERSITY”!!!!!

We’re happy to announce that the AFP New Mexico Chapter has earned the 2008 Friends of Diversity Designation. We are now able to use this logo on our chapter materials. We achieved the “2008 Friends of Diversity” designation, thanks to the initiative of Past President Felicia Griffin, and the hard work of Diversity Chairman, Roxanne Rivera-Wiest!
